10p per transaction VS Fixed costs

Some ordering systems don't charge a set-up fee but charge an amount per transaction. Whereas others have a set-up fee with small monthly costs. Here we compare the two options.

No set-up fee + cost per transaction

A table of 4, all paying separately, continually adding to their order.

Guest 1 orders a drink = 1 transaction (10p*).

Each guest orders drinks = 10p for each transaction.

They decide to order food, in separate transactions.

The guests order more, costing the venue 10p each time.

A full restaurant, with each table making multiple transactions, will soon see the charges mount up. Costs are unknown and unpredictable. While you wish for high sales, the costs will continue to increase.
